You can use promotions to incentivise customers to place an order. There are two types of promotion:
- Multibuy – 3 for the price of 2 (the cheapest is always free)
- Category discount – Apply a discount to all the products in a category
Promotions can be found under the Marketing section of your dashboard.
From the Store Promotions screen you can click Add New to create a new promotion.
Give your promotion a descriptive name. We have called ours Percentage Discount.
Select the promotion type you want to use.
Next select the percentage discount you want to give and the category you’d like to apply the discount to. We have applied a 10% discount to the Cards category.
You can add a description for the promotion too. This will appear on the category on the product.
The other type of promotion is the Multibuy. This can be set at category or product level. If set at category level the cheapest product will be the “free” one.
Choose from the following options.
Once you have setup your promotion you should click Publish it to make it live. Products cannot have more than one promotion applied to them. For example, if a product is in a category that already has a promotion applied to it then you will not be able to set a Multibuy promotion on that product.
