What are filters? #
Product filters introduce another way to help your customers navigate your product range. A filter attaches a product attribute like size or colour to a product.
Imagine you have a category full of clothes. There could be hundreds of products making it hard for a customer to find what they want. If you have assigned colour filters to your products your customers will be able to filter your clothing category to see just your green, blue or pink clothing items.
Filters work in conjunction with departments. If you are in the t-shirt department and click the pink colour filter you will just see pink t-shirts. If you are in the trousers department and click the green filter you will see just green trousers.
How do I add a filter? #
To assign a filter to a products:
- Scroll down the product admin page and select the “filters” tab.

- From the drop down box select the fitler you want to apply. In the example I have assigned a breed filter to a dog product.

- Use the search box to find the appropriate filter. The in the example we are looking for the “Staffordshire Bull Terrier” filter. When the filter appears, click on it to assign.
- Save the product.
